This mask is ideal for its anti-aging properties and hydration. It will keep your skin plumped and protected against the negative effects of UV radiation. Honey is also a key player in the hydration included in this mask. Honey has antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory properties as well as gluconic acid, which is known to brighten dull skin. Oh hey, while you’re at it, why not be extra like me and drink a matcha tea latte while you create and use your mask. This will increase the polyphenols the matcha contains by doing both at the same time. What’s the hell is that you ask? Well basically, polyphenols are like a super antioxidant on steroids that prevent, or neutralizes, the damaging effects of free radicals ( protecting you against diseases such as heart disease or cancer) as well as a reduction in blood pressure and anti-aging. I know this just turned into a science project, I know, but matcha just contains so many goodies as does honey which makes this face mask phenomenal!

This masque can be used for ALL SKIN TYPES. Use twice a week or as often as needed.

Tones, firms, and leaves skin with a subtle glow.

  • 1  teaspoon of Matcha Green Tea Powder (use the highest grade possible)
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon of Organic Raw Honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon Water

Before applying, clean your face with your favorite facial cleanser and air dry. 💡 Pro Tip: Towels often carry germs and bacteria on them if not washed often. My skin has been clearing up over the past few months and this is one of the beneficial tips I do!

In a small glass or ceramic bowl, combine all ingredients using a spoon or wooden stick. Depending on the consistency of your Organic Raw Honey, you may need to slightly add more or less. After creating a paste, gently smooth a thick layer to your face and neck using circular movements. Avoid the eye area. Allow to stay on for approximately 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water on a damp cloth. I like to use these homemade cotton facial pads that I bought off of to remove the mask. You can buy it here:

What Exactly Is Matcha?

Matcha is a powder made entirely of ground tea leaves. As opposed to tea leaves in which you steep in hot water, infuse, and discard – you are consuming (or applying) the entire leaf and therefore ingesting far more of the powerful antioxidant properties. Just make sure, especially when creating a face mask, to buy pure matcha powder made without sugar or other sweeteners. Matcha Powder has a strong grassy flavor and taste that I just absolutely love.
